The 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic Hybrid Truck is the first full-size pickup to employ hybrid technology. Currently, it has limited availability, but if successful it surely will become more widely offered. This behemoth 5.3 liter V-8, has 295 horsepower in its 4-speed automatic hybrid engine. That amount of power typically sacrifices mileage, but because it is a hybrid it gets about 18 MPG in the city and 21 highway, which is much better mileage than its gas truck equivalent.

New and Improved
There are few changes to the 2007 version of the Silverado Classic Hybrid compared to 2006. However, one cool feature is its engine start/stop system, which will automatically shut the engine off in order to conserve fuel when braking at speeds below 13 mph, as well as when stationary. This conservation goes hand-in-hand with the “green” theme of this hybrid truck.

Standard Features
Truck lovers will not be surprised to see that there really are no flashy standard features available on the 2007 Silverado Classic Hybrid.  However, it does give you everything desired that most big truck owners want.  For example, the body of the truck is strong and can withhold the punishment that it anticipates receiving. It has the required capabilities of performing all the tasks at hand, be it on a farm or the construction site, and everywhere in between.

Optional Features
Typically with large trucks the optional features are not the selling point for the vehicle, and this is no exception.  If desired, you can get power, heated, manual folding seats, but that is as exciting as it gets for optional features on this truck.

Why We Like It
This is a truck owner’s truck. It is big and powerful, and can tow and haul everything you need to move. Even better is the fact that it has the capability of running power tools and household items. For those truck owners that are skeptical, all you have to do is see how much less you spend at the pump and know you are not sacrificing anything for going “green.”
